  • Consistent with my last tasting. Blue and red fruit combine with light spice from the well integrated oak. Good depth and texture. Aromatically pleasing. This wine is all about elegance. Good juice.

  • Blue and red fruit is complimented by pencil shavings, cedar and tilled soil. Layers upon layers of goodness. Great death and texture. The aromatics are detailed and lively. This wine delivers like a premier cru on all levels. It is in a great drinking window, but there is no hurry. It should drink well for another five to seven years. Good juice.

  • This wine has a lot of alcohol on the nose reflecting the 15.9% alcohol level which is too high IMO for a wine to be properly balanced. However having said that, the freshness and succulence of the black and blue fruit is awesome. Long, long finish with loamy notes and a very polished finish.

  • After visiting a few years ago and picking up a few bottles, I wanted to see how this was showing since many ‘14s are in a great spot right now.

This was arguably better at pop and pour than it was an hour in. Very perfumed with sweet baking spices (vanilla, cinnamon) and baked mixed berry pie (lots of sweet blueberries and blackberries). Dusty too with cassis and graphite. In time, it turned more red fruit dominant on the palate alongside sandalwood, cocoa, clay and spiced black cherry liqueur. Rich, smooth but enough structure to keep improving. A friend wanted a juicy, balanced Napa cab and this fit the bill nicely.

  • Super delicious wine!
Drank this unknown to me cab out of a friends cellar and really enjoyed it. We all rated it higher than 2 vintages of pahlmeyer we also opened.
Opened for 2 hours no decant.
    Nose was semi floral.
Taste had black sweet fruit right up front with a long complex dry finish. Good chewy chalk finish, lots of structure and very balanced.
Lots of stuff going on with this and very fun.
Really had the character of a 5star Napa cab product.
For that reason I say this is good value.
