  9/16/2021 - Geaux Tigers Does not like this wine: 89 Points

  2 & 1/2 hour decant
  
  On the nose charred embers,fresh plums, wet river rock, purple fruit and flower notes
  
  On the palate muted and hollow with a slight brandy component, frankly a complete mismatch with a nose. WTF ?
  
  The oak has completely integrated but still a few chewy tannins holding this back
  
  92 on the nose 86 on the palate
  
  With more time it shutdown more. Not sure if the lunar calendar got me, I decanted too long or this was just an off bottle. Disappointing would be an understatement. Try again in 2025

  Slow ox for two hours. Also had a 2016 MacDonald and a 2015 Scarecrow open.
  
  This certainly stood toe to toe with some giants on this evening. I was very impressed. Black and dark purple fruit. Gravel. Long, lingering finish.
  
  We polished off most of this before dinner. It was plenty approachable after the 2 hour slow ox.
