  • Bolder than expected for pinot noir... almost a cherry grenache edge to it. Everything was in balance and quite smooth. Enjoyable and tasty... just not as I had expected from PN. www.vincrush.com

  • Dark ruby in color, this wine reveals dark fruits of blackberry, boysenberry and leather on the nose. The mouth feel is very full bodied with added elements of iodine and blood. The finish is uneven as the acidity struggles to emerge. 13% abv.

Purchased for $11US, this was an impulse purchase at a trusted wine shop. Pinot Noir from Israel? Sure, I'll try one at this price point. Unfortunately, this bottle tasted nothing like PN. It reminded me more of a GSM offering. Not for me.

Imported by Royal Wine Corp., New York, NY.

  • Nose: very expressive. Blueberries, blackberries and boysenberries. Big rose petals and Spring pollen. Smoke, iodine. Fruit punch. White pepper. Freshly tanned leather and young tobacco leaf. Licorice root. Beautiful bouquet. Palate: medium body, medium acidity. Integrated, modest tannin. Fruit is tart blueberries, huckleberries and red plums. Blood orange. Tar, hickory smoke. Herbs de Provence. Celery. Overall a very nice and still developing wine. Would be interesting to follow over the next 2-3 years, though I doubt secondary flavors will develop. Giving this an extra point for the extraordinary value that it is.
