Jeroboam Club Tasting: Wines of Portugal (130 Cheltenham Road, Bristol): Deep dark plum. Sweet and smokey on the nose, gamey, reminiscent of smoked ribs. Cassis and plum fruit. Liquorice. More smoke. Sweet fruit fills the mouth; VG grip through the mouth; strong finish; very flavoursome. A tad rustic, but very flavoursome. A big wine in its early maturity. (But would you want to drink more than one glass?)

From old vine tinta roriz, touriga franca and touriga nacional; matured in French oak. An interesting nose: more open and more minerally than the 2003 non-reserva. Very attractive on the palate with loads of character. Very Good Indeed.
