percentage alcohol illegible (label torn); on board the Carnival Pride, leaving Ma'laga for Cartagena, Spain, 7 pm, tasted at ca 19 degrees C, the wine had been open for 2 1/2 hours when it was served to us; cork length seemed longer than the standard 45 mm (I had nothing with me to measure), cork aroma of vanilla and left-over wine; long legs, intense gold color; nose of kiwi, lychee; full bodied, strong tannins, tingling on sides of tongue, minerally, steely, sour shadows, sweetness blended in hits you hard, long finish is minerally, hard to pair with anything because of its impact, maybe with soft cheeses as hors-d'oeuvres or dessert; this 2013 vintage Chardonnay had been aged for 9 years

Nice, rather uncalifornian Chardonnay. That means, the oak is certainly in the background here. It's still rich and caressing but it has structure and nice acidity. I wouldn't keep it too much longer, though.
