  • Winey Weekend With the Woodwards in Woodinville!!; 2/29/2024-3/2/2024 (Where else?): Adding to the great flight this evening! Decanted about an hour also, this was all about deep, rich black fruit, cacao, hints of herbs, and minerals. Still big but with curves. Now-2033.

  • Two hours of decant does a lot for this wine, like all wines. Some primary red fruits on the nose, a bit of cedar, and a very small hint of some VA. In the mouth it's still a touch primary with some tertiary notes of saddle leather moving in. A nice long finish. When first opened, it comes on strong with cocoa in the mouth but that recedes into this really lovely ruby-candy taste. Super good, but precious and delicate.

  • Well balanced, fruity, medium bodied, Not a powerhouse like some prior vintages but excellent.

  • On opening the bottle, the bouquet was dominated by mushroom and cooked fruit, and then developed in glass over an hour to an exceptional blend of pleasant primary classic Merlot fruits and lovely tertiary. About an hour in, it was absolutely singing with perfect dewey meadow and soft berry fruit in the background mixed with cocoa and wet concrete. Medium-long finish, lovely balance of acidity, tannin, alcohol. This perfect phase lasted about another hour, and we were able to refresh that experience by pouring more from the open bottle, given that the height of its song passed after a few hours in bottle and glass. I would not decant this wine. It is super, and I would rate it higher if it didn't fall apart after a few hours.

  • This is a delicious Merlot based Bordeaux blend from from Sonoma County.

    Full bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, chocolates, black currants, black plums, black cherries, cedar, vanilla, light earth, licorice and light coffee.

    Long finish with medium tannins.

This 10-year-old is drinking very nicely now, and it will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Would be nice to visit it again in 5 years.

Showing nice complexity with a great mouthfeel. Elegant and rich. Powerful and fruit forward.

Drinking very much like a Napa Cabernet.

Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime. Good by itself or with food.

A blend of 62% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot. 14% of the grapes are from Napa Valley. Aged in French oak barrels for 22 months. A small production of only 450 cases.

    14.8% alcohol by volume.

    93 points.

    $200.
