Very surprised by this wine. Nose and palate with citrus, nectarine, raspberry, mild oxidative/almond notes. Great acidity, dry, mild EtOH, very structured. Not going anywhere for 5-10 years at least, but drinking quite well right now.

Needs a good food pairing. As a quaff by itself I might rate it 88-89. Bright deep golden color. Complex nose with layers that leave you wondering---wet stones, dried citrus rinds, with hints of burned match & brown sugar running throughout. Palate adds toasted almonds with everything draped over tremendous weight and acidity. Long finish. This was perfect match for a cauliflower soup garnished with diced foie gras and drizzled melted foie fat. Wow!

This is interesting stuff; first dry malvasia; the nose was certainly interesting with some dried citrus notes, smoke, a slight funk that I couldn't quite put my finger on, some definite oxidative notes. The palate was still actually pretty fresh and again quite intriguing if not necessarily pure pleasure; smoky, funky, wild, with some citrus pith and crushed nuts, a bit of minerality. It grew on me, but didn't necessarily make me want tons more in the cellar.
