  • This was a straight pop and pour. Right away, it shows a more intense, sunny, and upfront quality with tones of black cherries, raspberries, licorice, black currants, blueberry compote, vanilla beans, and a touch of liqueur notes. There is good depth with a rich, Full bodied feel along with medium acidity and medium tannins. There is a bit of warmth from the alcohol and the finish is a little bitter. This is drinking perfectly right now and I don't see this really improving from here.

  • Deep purple. Medium intensity aromas of dried and stewed prunes, blackberries, tomato leaf, pyrazines, black cherries, tar, smoke. On the palate the wine is dry, medium plus acidity, medium plus tannins, a bit coarse, high ETOH, medium plus body and medium finish. Flavors of black cherries, black pepper, dried black fruit, vanilla. THe wine is good, and clearly shows the varietal characteristics of the Cabernet, sturdy structure as well. However the intensity and finish fall short of a really good wine. Ok for an everynight quaff.

  • Double decanted. Creme de cassis, bell pepper, cedar. Very approacheable. Fruity upfront, but the oak influence is very dominant. Black currant, black cherry and toasty oak on the palate. It has a very interesting salty finish, but it fades as the wines breathes.

  • Good South African Bordeaux Blend bringing leather, oak, black fruits as well as red berries. Medium bodied, perfectly balanced enphasizing its ripe fruit notes and toasted aftertaste. No bitterness in the end.
