Infanticide. While we killed another baby tonight, it is easy to say this will be a 95 pt. wine with another 10-15 years in the bottle. Today, it is VERY primary with a solid core of fruit, iron & blood. This will be a legendary Lynch with proper cellaring.

Blackberry, cassis, raspberry, red cherry, graphite, earth, herbs, a little ink, and a hint of almost compost-y vegetation on the nose. Tart cherries, cassis, blackberries, minerals, graphite, soil, and herbs on the palate. Bright mouthwatering acidity, firm tannins, med-long finish. Lots of focus and concentration. Delicious. The tannins are firm, but with meat or cheese this is quite approachable. Really, it's the earthiness of this wine that brings me back for another sip.

I had this in a vertical with a 2000, 2009. I liked this as a distant 2nd from the 2009. I surprisingly did not like the 2000 as much as I would guess. I have had other Bordeaux from this vintage that I enjoyed. The 2000 came across as somewhat astringent on the palate with much more tobacco and leather rather than graphite and florals on the nose which I got much more of from the 2009 and this 2015. The tannins are still quite pronounced with this 2015 and would have gone well with a steak.

I'm the outlier here. I was hoping to be unimpressed so I didn't have to hunt any more down, but unfortunately this blew me away. Such a perfect example of Pauillac. Stern and powerful, yet with enough fruit to balance it out. Dark blue fruit, gravel, with a nice minerality to it. Tannins were not nearly as obtrusive as I expected nor was it shut down...who would have guessed. I loved this.
A deep and complex bouquet, filled with layers of toasted earthy spices, a touch of barnyard, fermented soya beans, tobacco and gentle cedar nuances. There is a certain silkiness on the mouth, reflecting the earthy and warm spices and plush mid-palate. Tannins are fine, supporting the full-bodied structure. Finish is lingering and polished. An hour of decanting is necessary to bring out its best. A wine for another decade of drinking pleasure. 93-94 pts.
