This is an exceptional wine. It can only be purchased at the winery itself. Very small production in a project by Santiago Achaval and Roberto Cipresso. The character of this Malbec lies in its minerality and structure, where the fruit is not the center but an ornament, where the attraction is the personality and conviction of the terroir.

Hand carried this back from a trip to Mendoza 3 years ago. A very unique expression of Malbec, this comes from the high altitude vineyards of Salta in the north, so likely different if you're used to drinking traditional Malbecs. While there's the typical blueberries and violets on the nose, the blue fruit on the palate is quickly followed by some salinity and a rush of olive tapenade. This reminds me of some Ridge Monte Bellos I've had recently (a good thing!) Day 1 flavors more prominent than day 2, so would recommend drinking after a decent decant on Day 1.
