  • What a spectacular wine!! Opened on Christmas with my wife's mother and step-father, who don't drink and consumed over the next couple of nights. This is a wonderful wine!! Exceeded all expectations!!

  • Wonderfully polished cassis, black currant and blackberry. There is great concentration and a full mouthfeel here but with structure to balance and provide elegance. The alcohol does protrude but will hopefully settle and integrate. The oak is present, providing notes of charred vanilla. Long finish, hints of complexity. Wait another 3 to 5.

This needed lots of air. When first opened the alcohol (15%) really protruded - but after 3 hours in a decanter the excess alcohol had resolved, leaving wonderfully polished rich fruit.

  • Celebrating closing on a new home. PnP and ready from the start. Nose wafted in a 5 ft radius, crazy!

    Outstanding!

Oak and tannins perfectly integrated. Glycerin and squid ink texture. Black as night with a crimson/purple edge, no bricking. Lovely mouthfeel front to back.

Nose-crushed Indian spices, intense perfume, green herbs (but no greenish notes), cola, hint of creosote, perfume, red raspberries, black raspberries. Lots going on - could sit and smell this all day.

Palate-restrained power, 80% full throttle, and pure deliciousness. Red and black raspberry, hint of blueberry, cola, cherry cola, candied dried red cherries, Asian spice, medium finish, no appearance of tannins anywhere.

For my palate this is in the perfect spot, but I think this still gets better, but we’re splitting hairs. Drink up because it’s damn good right now, enough acid for another 2-3 yrs at peak, I won’t find out if I’m right—my last bottle.

  • Decanted for one hour through a coffee filter, with moderate to heavy sediment removed. This is a hedonistic wine that is drinking beautifully.
