Absolutely delicious example of mature Vouvray sec, that has aged beautifully since my last bottle 5 years ago. In the glass, light gold and , and a nose that develops to show bruised cider apples, waxy lanolin, yeasty dough, quince, saline green olives, and high notes of lemon mousse and gingery melon. On the palate, it is really mouthwatering - quite viscous and rich , with flavours of fresh Granny Smith apples, playing off against the gingery acidity. The finish is long, saline and chalky. Classic Vouvray. I have one remaining bottle to open over the next 5 years!

This is a beautiful Sec Vouvray. Notes are from last glass on third day bottle that bottle has been open. Deep gold color, defined meniscus. Rich nose with ripe apple, citrus, alcohol, mineral. Same rich flavors in the mouth with solid acidity to back them up. Wish I had a bunch of these.

Lemon pie, rhubarb, gooseberries, elevated acidity. A creamy lactic note, think kefir/yoghurt, stuck on my palate (not my favourite aroma but that’s highly subjective, also I guess this depends a lot if you drink this by itself or mix it up with other glasses (which I did) that might enhance this note by comparison).

Drinkable but heavy oxidation; Apple Cider; Still a strange freshness
