91/92. One of the last real elegant chalky juicy food friendly vanillary red fruits Vina Alberdi before it became a Chateauneuf du Pape. 13.5%. Drink in next 2-5 years. You can PnP this. The Cork was dead on this. LRA should improve their corks there is a 25% chance of them crumbling with ageing. The most versatile red Spanish wine with food as it has cutting zingy acidity which leaves you want to try it as it never overpowers but matches the food superbly.
1st of these, this one's from half bottle. Medium (+) ruby to garnet. Smells surprisingly youthful with almost confectionary fruit and concord grape, lemon, orange, black tea, and graphite. The former is softening a bit with air. Medium body with a silky, luscious texture, medium acid and finish, with flavors of black cherry, lemon, spice, and minerals. Worked well with bourbon chicken tonight.

Every bottle was better than the last. 4 years since I last opened a bottle and this was still fresh and vibrant. Red currant/cranberry/raspberry fruit, velvety smooth. Incredible value and so sad it was my last bottle.

This producer has been around since 1890. 100% Tempranillo from the Las Monjas, Bardal and Las Cuevas estate vineyards. Aged for 2 years in American oak. Not decanted. Solid red color. No signs of fading at 12 years old. A smooth and well rounded wine. Notes of red berries, cherries and some balsamic. 91 points
