Popped and poured, deep ruby. Aromas of plummy fruits, clay, dried herbs, pyrazines and pronounced, overt "sweet" oak (American?). Medium-plus body. On the palate, this shows OAK. Like immediately and to such an extent no other flavors show. Pronounced green blends in to create plasticine flavors that conjur a hypothetical flavor akin to what one may think Windex would taste like. With air, the fruit emerges ever so slightly. While decent acidity and moderate tannins are somewhat redemptive, there's no escaping the fact this is bizarrely flavored...almost like a spoof wine that's trying too hard to be something it isn't. Regardless, this is completely subpar and a horrendous QPR to boot -- would make a great flavor additive for rail gin instead of masquerading as fine wine like it is right now.

More than a typical CA Merlot. Definitely needs decanting or time to breathe. One of us thought it was better 48 hours later (vacu-vin in between).

Blue, black, balsamic, crushed flowers. The palate doesn’t quite live up to the nose, but still, it’s exceptional.
