  I'm not sure what to make of this. Really opened up after an hour, maybe it could have given more if I left it longer.
  
  Deep and rich ruby. Vanilla and cherry, with some earthy, brambly, tobacco on the nose.
  
  Rounded and dense on the palate - chocolate, leather, cedar, strawberries and cream, but a bit muddled and unclear. Strong, drying tannins give overpowering robustness leaving a less than satisfying finish.
  
  A good wine, but expected more finesse and tertiary character from a 10 year old wine.

  fine but nothing outstanding. Bright cherries and incense, perfumed after an hour or two. Give it a good decant if drinking now. Cork was barely stained, which indicates that this was bottled recently.
