found this at the back of the cellar and wasn't hoping for very much, but it had a screw top so at least no cork issues to worry about. Lots of tannins in the bottle, and as someone mentioned, the film in the screw cap had turned bright red. Opened it and actually had a lovely nose. Not quite D'arenburg but not far off! A bit of alcohol burn, but plenty of eucalyptus and mint, with some fruit still present Long fast legs. Bricked round the edge. Tannins all smoothed out. If you've still got a bottle get it drunk but reading the other reviews, have something as a backup in case it falls flat.

Surprising acidity for a Shiraz this thick and concentrated. Sweet and spicy blackberry jam, with an underlying meat and blood character. Enticing nose and a decent finish. Odd, but satisfying.

I really enjoye this bottle. A heavy red, smooth with great aromatics to compliment the experience.

Aged well. At least as good as the President Select '02.
