One of those bottles hidden in my cellar for about a thousand years that I never got around to drinking. Brought as a second bottle to my wine group's outing where Syrah was the theme. Expected a dead bottle and was pleasantly surprised. Mature cherry red in color. Pleasant nose of cassis, earth and bacon fat. Fruit subdued on the palate, but still there. Delicious plum, earth, bacon fat with a dose of minerality on a smooth balanced palate. Enjoyed by 7 experienced inbibers that went well with sophisticated modern Indian fare.
