  • Just beautiful. Pretty, seductive perfume with red fruit, Rhone-ish aromatics and a touch of mint. Fruit sweet, smooth, powerful, seamless and long on the palate. Super fine tannins on the finish provide a touch of grip. Tastes like no other zinfandel due to the unique field blend. Reminds me of Thackery's Orion, and that's a very good thing. No need to hold off as it's at peak for my palate now. A short decant is all this needs.

  • Rich raspberry, kir, blueberry and spice. Great with BBQ

  • Outstanding. Deep dark brambly raspberry fruit (rasberry is VERY prominent) and some spice. Smack dab in the zone right now. Enjoy!

  • Agree that this is drinking really well but has plenty of time left. Very distinct (and delicious) raspberry fruit with a bit of spice and slight savory note. Good stuff!

  • Consumed over 3 days, stored in Somm du Vin, note from day 3. Appearance: Medium ruby. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with developing aromas of overtones of ripe red fruit - strawberry, undertones of dark red fruit - pomegranate, black pepper, and floral notes - rose and violet. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium tannin, medium+ body, medium intensity, 14.9% abv with flavors of ripe strawberry, pomegranate, and black pepper with a long finish.

My second of two bottles with similar experiences. It's a well made wine but it is dominated by typical Zinfandel characteristics of ripe strawberry and black pepper which do not align with my palate. As such, it's not fair for me to score this wine.
