Riesling Refresher 2015: Brett, leather, earth, blood and some briar. Very savoury palate, there is some red fruit too but it is definitely in the background. The structure is holding well, but I feel like this needs to be consumed soon.

Utterly compelling at this point. Is it zinfandel? Hard to tell. Drinking more like a 15 - 25 year old premier cru burgundy, or maybe older priorat. Sacrilegious, perhaps, but there it is! It's Ridge zinfandel!! This one is all over the place and hard to fix; but, it is delicious! It is a beautiful amalgam of dark red fruits, earthiness, secondary and tertiary flavors, tobacco....ok, and a little bit of cough syrup. Great balance. I'd probably trade 1/2 my over $50 wines for bottles of these at less than 1/2 the price. Who says zin and cali wines don't age? It's the balance that PD achieved in these wines that keeps them fresh and delicious years down the road.
