A perfect Monday evening sipper, with fresh and salivating yellow citrus and white melon rind notes that hop around the palate, finishing with a soft limestone flavor that adds interest. There’s nothing overly academic or romantic here, but it’s a fun friend zone Chablis that makes for the perfect accompaniment to tofu and mixed vegetable wraps.
Sealed with a synthetic closure. Drink now and over the next few years.

An easy drinker with a decent QPR. Medium weighted and quasi-rich notes of lemon curd and lemon juice dominate. A touch more simple than its sibling Montmains VV (which I prefer a little more comparatively), the Mont de Milieu still performed as expected. Medium speed and a little lower in tension - especially next to a 2018 Piuze Sechets 1er Chablis served next to it.
Drink the Malandes MdM now and over the coming 5 years. 91+ points with a chance to earn some additional complexity in a year or two (though the lack of tension here may be a reference for an earlier drinking window). Likely sooner than later for my palate.

At restaurant Seb in Mont Tremblant. Pale color, nose of oyster shells, lemon rind, American Smarties. Good acid on palate, hint of oak smoke and a hint of butter (so maybe it’s been in oak?).
Big upside surprise. Bought without searching on my phone. So pre-2015.
