This is just entering its drinking window and still on the upslope. Great wine and an amazing value. A nose that leaps out at you and fills the room of humidor (cedar and tobacco), black pepper, raspberries, and a touch of camphor and thyme. Still some tannin, but it is balanced with acid and fruit. Thanks to Fass Selections. 20 months in French oak--but seems like it is pretty neutral.

Dark red colour with violet reflexes. Dark berry fruit and a lot of tobacco, coffee, bell pepper and after some breathing cassis. There is a lot tannin here but it is smooth and fine grained. Kirsch liquor, plum and more chocolate on the palate. This is starting to open up and I asume it will drink well for quite a time. It is well worth the money and I like the dark fruit completamented by this ceder and sandalwood. Wonderful grip and a charming Bordeaux, made by Stefan Paeffgen with a lot of enthusiasm and quite an effort (keeping old vines in production, very good barriques etc.) and the result shows it.

I am just reporting that this wine is too young to drink! Lots of acid to carry the day, and many promising layers of deep tannins and fruit. But not come together yet in a way I like. Seriously probably another 5 years before I open another. I will also comment in CT re other vintages of same.

Very young. Big nose of cassis, cedar and tobacco. Intense tannins and acids with medium body. If something is lacking it is more fruit-stuffing in the middle. Should probably not try this again before 2020.
