Fantastic 100% Syrah, but on it's way down. Need to drink up. Bricking on the edge, but great tertiary sandlewood, leather, forest floor. Decent finish. Enjoy.

I stand corrected and revise my tasting note. This has taken on weight, layers, and interest. Of note: still has high alc, very lush and finishes fairly sweet after 1HR decant. This is a big, rich CA Syrah, but has enough going on to avoid mediocrity. Drink now or soon, doesn’t have the backbone for more than a couple years at this level.

Better than the Nicora a few weeks ago, still in the same vein. More refined in the nose and in the mouth, still- suffering from the high booze. Preferred day ne over day three, perhaps day two would have been the Goldilocks. In the mouth, dark black fruits- a certain clean, jamminess, well placed oak, and a oily funk. Certainly got the heat of the booze in the nose. In the mouth, the wine is again, clean- but the boozy finish is definitely noticeable- and a real detractor. Intensely full bodied, waves of jammy red and black fruit, spice, oak, and vanilla. The booze fools you to thinking there is any fruit acid here- at least that's what I am telling myself... The heat of the booze feels like it's a part of the acidity- Torrin has a way with things. Big wine, bigly- hugely. Admittedly not my bag. but made with a bit more attention to detail, making the drinking experience enjoyable, not a chore. Still, prefer something other than JP-8 in my tank.

Crushed blueberrry, lilac, and a hint of sage on the nose. Mouth coating familiar blackberry and fig. Expansive long finish. Enjoy.
