Well-sculpted delivering cherry, leather and dirt. Medium bodied, high acidity and still having grip. Nicely balanced and a longer than average length. Good paired with pizza and tomato based dishes. NI:4, FI:21,FC:8, B:4, L:4

Really late lunch – blind esoteric and not so esoteric wines at Q by Peter Chang (Q by Peter Chang - Bethesda, Maryland): Red and black cherry, dry cherry, fruit cake, tar, rose and strong iron. Very good concentration, packed red and black fruit, warm, elegant and round, a lot of iron and a long dark fruit and tar driven finish. Certain from Italy, either the top end mount etna or piedmont. Paul mentions Gattinara. I boldly and foolishly suggests "young Monfortino". Very nice Barolo that is open for now.

Young, needs time, but very classic Barolo.
Loved it anyway, and with 2 hours changed a little, but this could have been tasted over 3 days.
Every mouthful was an experience of heaven.
Each reminded me of how much I love these wines and styles.
Fine cakes, crunchy cherry, tars.
Joy to have and imbibe.

Still needs age, but drinking well. DCwino notes below concur with mine. Good wine. Gives the Barolo stuff I like.
