Really young but undeniably delicious. So meaty and dark, like blackberry ooze and chorizo sausage, with lots of gravelly, iron, pepper. The tannins are really dense, almost like bitter herbs, but the acidity is so lively that it works out. Needed a steak to really pop, but delicious stuff.

Black as night, scents of black & blue fruit with an undercurrent of pasture manure. On the palate the tannin is dominant with fruit that isn’t ready to give up the structure yet. HOLD 5+ years

Blind in a lineup of 15/16 C-M, Levet, Jamet, and Rostaing. The most old school of the lineup. Relatively lean, but meaty and feral in a positive way. A pleasant surprise that I liked this more than the ‘16.

This was a brutish beast after opening, like licking an ashtray, but over 3-4h in a decanter, this smoothed out and blossomed beautifully (thank God! given the price point). Very savory, dark fruit, spices, black pepper, mineral, and eucalyptus. Personally, I don't like evergreen/eucalyptus, but there is nice acidity in the finish, making this a good food wine. An excellent pairing for herb encrusted rack of lamb. Clearly too young for prime time, and not my favorite flavor profile at the moment, but it has been in my cellar for over 3 years, and I was just too curious. This needs like five more years to mellow out, hopefully the eucaluptus evolves into something tastier, and I'm hoping it benefits from more patient waiting for this to develop. 91/92

Way too young at this stage, even with O2 and decanting.
