Let it breathe in the bottle for 2 hours. By the 3rd hour, it developed into a good, basic, everyday wine. Weak nose of red fruit. Medium-bodied and balanced, with mild flavors of red cherry and plum. Medium finish, with a hint of vanilla. The tannins were mostly integrated, so drink this wine by early 2020. This was a pleasant wine, but perhaps a bit less character than the 2016.

Bought this for $8.50 from Total Wine in Delaware. For a lower end Bordeaux, it was hard to beat. Spices on the nose and a little vegetal, but opened to more jammy fruit that was there on the palate. Medium+ acidity. Shortish finish, but went well with some meatballs in sauce and really well with a chocolate fudge cookie. So much to think about for $8.50!

Hint of cherry, weak and lacks body. Ok with pizza, but not a favorite for us.
