This wasnt premox but still surprised me to seem past apex. Fruit is not lively, "gin" is not out of sight.... I am scratching my head here, esp since the nose is great. But more air made it worse (over 3 hrs). I will be careful with this producer in the future. 89/90.

Ed. : had the '12 the other night and it was nice but the fruit felt a bit flat. At the end it started resembling gin. I am wondering if the' 13 i hade here wasnt premox but just oth? (it was served directly after a '18 saint-joseph so impression was in comparison to that). In any case, I am not sure of the longevity of this wine tbh and will try to drink my remaining btls on the young side.

Open 3 hours before but then Decanted because of some reduction notes. A great open Barolo, in my opinion perfectly drinking at this moment. I guess it has already reach its highest peak and it is adding shy tertiary notes. Good and pleasant Barolo, but far from greatness.

Drank this at Osteria Veglio in La Morra. Another gorgeous 2013, this Vignarionda can easily deserve another 5-10 years to be in full bloom. The bouquet comes with sour cherries, rose petals and some earthiness from this great Serralunga Cru. The tannins emerge after 60 minutes but are quite refined. Very good value in nowadays world of wine.
WAY TOO YOUNG. Based on some critic notes, I thought it would be more approachable now. Although given the fact that I like Pira's Nebbiolo Langhe with 5-10 years in good vintages, it is not surprising that this one should be so shut down. Decanted for 4 hours and just starting to get the florals coming through on the nose. Menthol and spice on palate, but it is just disjointed and the finish is all tannin. I am a huge fan of these wines and expect this just needs a LOT more time. Luckily, I have a case. This is going to my offsite storage tomorrow for examination much later in life!
