Second red wine tasted at Warwick Wine Estate. This bottling is made up of 100% Cabernet Franc from a single vineyard facing southwest and planted in 1995. Aged for 22 months in 40% new French oak.
Dark ruby red in appearance. Sweet spices on the attack of the nose with notes of cinnamon, dark cocoa and coconut. Followed up by some dark red berries and a touch floral. Medium plus tannins (6.5/10) with some sweet spices coating through the full body. Similar notes on the palate with some additions of mulberries, plums and tobacco. Dry and long finish. Drink till 2027. (91+)

Classic green pepper and chalk. One of my favorite Cab Francs but I need to drink it a little earlier.
For me this seems to be at its peak (which seems odd and maybe just this bottle) and now on the downside of the hill.
