Dark purple to the rim, with a floral nose. Palate wise, dark cherry, dark berry fruit, slightly tart cassis. More of a full-bodied wine yet the flavors are suppressed/inhibit flavors at this stage, a wine that will benefit from more cellaring. If you decide to drink it soon, give it a long decant. A good wine now but with better days lie ahead for this vintage. The 2016 is more approachable and preferred.

This year is starting to open up and still has upside. Give it a few more years or a 2+ hour decant.
Crimson red in color with the alcohol still prominent on the edges. Damp forest floor and tobacco on the nose. Dark plums and cherries with a long smooth finish. This was the best 12C I have tried which tells me to age those 15's and 16's five plus years.

My first bottle was more explosive on the palate, higher octane and raw energy. I really enjoyed the power and energy of this wine the first time around. This experience started out a bit on lock down. Reddish purple color. On the palate, dark and slightly tart cherry, cassis, soft plum notes and some acidity. A medum/ full-bodied wine that will benefit from more bottle time. Day 2 showed a nice improvement as the acidity tamed and had settled down nicely, not to mention, the wine smoothed out and the components in the wine were a bit more expressive on the palate. This bottle went from 91 to 93.5 Points . This is a pretty good bottle of vino that shows best with some decanting.

A wonderful expression of a modern Napa cab. Drank along side a 2013 Janzen To Kalon an a 2013 Stonestreet Cougar Ridge brought by my buddy Mark1npt. All great wines, for me the 12C was the brightest most fruit driven. It had great depth and balance with a plum and violet palette.
Just another great wine from Mike Smith in his usual style.
