Delicous. Sorry it is my last bottle. I get the alcohol on the nose, but that blows off with about 10 minutes of air. Full, ripe, round flavors, absolutely a perfect California pinot. Maybe lacking a bit of complexity, but shows more pedigree than 95% of the pinots out there. A brilliant wine.

This was just delicious, but ultimately a better score may be warranted. Beautiful medium red color, nose of creamy oak with pinot like cranberries and cherries, along with a touch of Rosella's "grapefruit". A delicious bottle of wine with wonderful balance, and although very tasty now, could garner another point or two with the next bottle, around 2008.

Tasted July 1, 2007 at an offline. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Balloon Magnum glass. Garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Spicy and rich nose of dark fruits with lots of florals. Flavors of dark fruits, currants, black berries and black licorice. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannins, medium to full body. Just a little hot on the nose. Drink or hold. 15.0% alcohol.

night 1: a slightly hazy purple/cranberry hue fading to rose at the rim. the nose is all about clean feminine pinot fruit greeting you with cherries and cola. the palate stays true to the nose with crisp acidity giving way to an extended spiced and red fruit filled finish. nothing terribly complex at this stage, but sure is fun to drink. you wouldn't know this was aged for 22 months in oak. night 2: the nose picks up some cranberry, brown sugar, and perhaps a bit of pine. better integrated palate and larger finish.

(Sandler Wine Company Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands) Medium dark strawberry red color with pale meniscus; orange, clementine nose with a touch of VA; baked cherry, persimmon, berry palate, mature tasting; medium-plus finish (Adam Lee originally made this wine for Roar, but took 4 barrels out of the final blend. Ed Kurtzman bought them for Sandler and aged them for another 10 mos. in barrel.)
