A lot of competition on the table, and this was very good, but not great. I think there is a lot of exuberance in CT over this wine, but I don't think it is right for me. Cheers!

This is the sixth vintage of Anonyme, counting the N/V version, that I’ve had, all of which have been excellent. 2016 was a great year that M. Vignon took to good advantage.

1 hour decant, 58 F. Medium ruby color. Lovely nose of big plum fruit, smoke, meat and allspice that gradually receded with time and air. Minimal oak, light pleasant acidity, smooth silky tannins with just a bit of drying grip, alcohol well-integrated. Medium-bodied. Red cherry fruit on the palate, hints of raw beef, balsamic and olive notes. Lingering finish. Just a lovely wine, and great QPR. Will try to hold off on my last bottle for a few years to see how this evolves, but it is drinking so well now that I may not be able to.

3 hour double decant. Beautiful wine. Medium bodied. Smooth as silk. Shorter decant recommended as it didn’t evolve much in the glass. Perhaps an hour would be better. Really nice wine. Good example of Rhône wine and its subtle beauty

Excellent CdP, earthy and meaty but not overly so. Still some fresh dark fruit flavors. Smooth integrated tannins. Drinking very well right now.
