Since this is a Tremblay '04, the cork of course fell apart upon opening so pushed it into the bottle and filter decanted. Murky dark red in the glass. Dark minerally pine-tinged aromas. On the palate, more dark fruit, a mineral streak, integrated wood, sweat, and surprising orange/citrus zest. Soft tannins, finishes relatively long without dryness. This has an umami thing going on. Surprisingly drinking quite well, certainly peaking.

This is drinking real nice tonight, very Chambolle, refined, and youthful. This is pretty soft and feminine for Feusselottes, showcasing silky dark red fruit rather than dark stone fruits. Good acid and spice and overall sense of balance. It's got a great iron and red fruit nose, and while there's a subtle green streak that runs through this juice, it's not much of a distraction, just makes it speak more of the typicity (in a good way) of this vintage. Nice work here, aging nicely. Going back to the glass -- what a great perfumed nose and a real nice mouthfeel on the palate. Almost a year to the day that I last had a bottle of this -- seems to have lost much of its greenness. Like this a lot tonight.

Ladybugs. But the raw material is there. Dark purple-red in the glass. The nose is dominated by cedar, fir, pine, and pepper. Dark stone fruits and some spice are present on the palate, but unfortunately so are the ladybugs. I have had a few more recent bottles that had lost their greenness but not this one.

Southside Chambolle 1er Crus (Chicago IL): Served Blind. A very pretty mix of red cherry and flowers with just a hint of greenness. Good ripeness on the palate with perhaps a touch more acid than the others in the flight. Nice finish. Showed very well.
