Curiosity lead me to keep this until 10 years old. Losing some fruit. Not dead. A bit more hard-edged and less enjoyable than the previous bottle four years ago.

Inviting nose of blackcurrant, vanilla and green olive. Medium bodied wine, elegant rather than powerful, medium acidity and alcohol, tannins are well developed and elegant. Juicy and balanced. Good length. Overall, an enjoyable well-made wine which in its elegance is closer to good Northern Rhone rather than bombastic Australian Shiraz. Value for money.

Very much true to the fresh, vibrant fruit I was hoping. A hint of mint. Lifted and fresh. Just a little lean and jagged. Maybe something that will correct with age but a bit more fruit word have been re-assuring.

Consistent with last note. This has really hit its stride and lost all its hard edges yet still poised and firm.

Compared to 6 months ago I think this has improved enormously. Lovely clear fruit, and the palate is now firm without being harsh.
