  • Tasting after the bottle is open for an hour.

Color is ruby red with a tinge of orange. A bit light compared to typical cab.

Nose is simple and fruity. Black cherry and a little raisin. Promising.

Taste is kinda a letdown. Flavor is simple, fruity (muddy cherry/dark fruit) and vague. Acidity is there, but a bit harsh and does little to brighten/clarify the flavor. Very light structure/tannins for a cab. A little oak dryness shows up on finish. Drinkable.

Fair price at $8, but don't expect anything great.

Update: 48 hours after opening, the acidity softened. The cherry flavor clarified with a tad of vanilla. Still simple, but improved and easy drinking.

  • This was a great cheap wine. We got this bottle for $8 and for that money, this was definitely a great Cab. Great for everyday drinking- not a typical Cab, less tannins and less dry. So for someone who is not totally up for a full body Cab, this could be a great substitute.
