  i have consumed my share of these over the years, and it was a pleasure to have it out of magnum - and with winery storage to boot. Still showing young, with bright cherry, red fruit, hints of herb and tobacco. The palate is classic, mineral and acid driven but with great cherry and raspberry tones. Still has a lovely tannic grip, and the tangy finish is quite refreshing. An excellent showing.

  Deep ruby color. Nose of dusty black cherry with a little spice. Pleasant on the palate, a touch thin.

  tomato, cherry, tobacco notes, mid is bright, resolved - in a good place now. hints of herb and cherry. good finish - perhaps a hint more acid would be more refreshing. excellent "old school claret" type of wine - food friendly and quite satisfying. I wouldn't age it much longer - in a great place now.
  
  two days later - garnet color. ripe core of cherry and plum, hint of tannin still there. after 2 days - acidity came back in a bit more - tart finish with plum tones and hints of tobacco leaf. this really is excellent aged LI wine.

  Crashing at Salil's House: vanilla, touch of cab franc, sweet plum, herbs, good fruit. rich mid. deep acidic core that keeps this fresh. touch of tobacco leaf on the finish. resolved tannins. well aged and really lovely wine. (btw only improved on the second day - no hurry to drink up)

  Really enjoyed this wine, however, I don't know if I drank it too early or too late. There was plenty of tannin to it, a little out of balance with the fruit. Still, it was quite a nice bottle of wine. Complex, with a long finish. Vegetive, with dried fruits, it was quite lovely. But, still, would it have been better last year or next year?
