  • If you have a bottle of this vintage, don't fret. I found it still drinkable and not unpleasant. Alittle "musty" on the nose, but still smooth and quite enjoyable. It definitely did not translate to the taste. Enjoyed with a meal of Maggianos to go(Covid times). Stored in our basement for it's life and it was decanted with an aerator and consumed over 2 hours. Even the wife drank it and she usually has her nose up at this scenario of "10 years past consumption".

  • Bottom shelf find at a rural liquor/wine shop. Cork was dried out, crumbling and a mess to extract. I've had plenty of wines at 10 years of age, and never a cork in this bad shape. Surprisingly, the wine was very much typical Syrah. Smoked bacon, lavender, and blackberry, with the mellowness of texture provided by some age. Storage was not ideal, clearly, but this was really very good, cork aside.
