lovely lifted nose. definitely on the mature side, with more dusty and floral characteristics. surprisingly, the palate still shows some lively acidity. notes of green pepper, tart red berry fruit, all wrapped in notable tannin. these grand vins have the guts to age (but at this point, the fruit is in a supporting role).

Decanted. Half soaked cork. Not much sediment. Still very dark red plum with some bricking at the rim. Great nose! Fully mature with sous bois, red and black fruits, graphite, cedar and a touch of licorice. Great on the palate too! Sweet red and black fruits in abundance, more licorice, graphite, chalk and some general earthy / brambly notes. Just a hint of green pepper on the finish that I think adds to the complexity. Super smooth, deftly balanced and not a trace of tannin left! Finishes long, dry, clean and with lingering fruit / woody notes and just the barest hint of tea-like tannins. Greatly exceeded my expectations! Probably the best OL I ever had. 94 points to start and slowly faded slightly to a 92 after 4 hours.

Wow, a 17 year old BC wine and it is still drinking well. Beautiful notes of cedar, leather, and stewed fruit. Lovely dark ruby colour with notes of garnet. This wine is drinking very well right now and could still drink well for next 5 years. Drank this next to a right bank bordeaux and the BC wine was more alive.

Absolutely intoxicating nose, very smooth, intense, long lasting finish with really sweet tannins. Lovely wine. Best of all vintages tasted so far.
