Opened up the bottle 1 hour in front. Nice light oaky, vanilla nose. Medium bodied taste, good acid and light tannins. Less aftertaste. After 2 hours the wine developed better but still not as good as I expected for the money. Perhaps over the top for this minor Ribera vintage.

Stimmel's Market: Spain (Bowling Green, OH): Pencil lead nose. Medium tannin and acid, medium+ body. Pleasant balanced fruit and earth, but not interesting enough for this price level. $57

Rich multy layered complex nose of dark fruit, vanilla, spice and toast. In the mouth concentrated, medium to full body, but lacking elegance and comes across somewhatinbalanced as excessive use of oak combined with lots of fruit concentration is not coming together fully. Medium finish. Good , but not so impressive anymore after having tasted other RdD recently.

Past prime; no fruit left. Should have drunk a couple of years ago. Nevertheless, it was okay with food.

O Protos reserva está bastante equilibrado, é muito agradável de beber mas falta um pouco de personalidade.
