Decanted for 2 hours. Big plum fruit with Rocks Funk, iodine, tar, pepper and smoked meat. Still a wee bit over the top on the savory flavors...best to let this one be for a couple more years. Drink 2024-2035+.

I've had lots of Rocks wines and this one may just not be my cup of tea, or in this case, pint of porter. Strong Rocks funk combined with what my wife immediately pegged as a beer aroma, in particular, porter, along with heavy vanilla and smoke. Lots of syrupy dark plum fruits, a bit too much for me, with more porter on the palate.
A bit disappointing given the pedigree, price point, and accolades.
Color was more Grenache-like, somewhat translucent and not dark/inky/purple like prior incarnations of this cuvee. Remained this way over 2-3 hour drinking window.
Decent HP funk but fairly one dimensional. Good red fruit notes with strong hint of allspice and vanilla.
Was hoping for the wine to evolve over the evening ...
Perhaps needs another 12-18 months

Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of barnyard, roasted meat, plums and currants. Flavors of raspberries, currants and plums. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with air or continue to hold.

Excellent texture and body (like a good burgundy) but found the funk off putting. Notes of olive and stone were overshadowed.
First time trying horsepower, potentially flawed
