Second and last bottle. Poured dark and clear (however there were sizeable flakes of sediment in the punt. On the nose it’s dark and potent. In the mouth, dark cherry and plum. Tar and prune juice add some bitterness. It’s not as heavy as it sounds but definitely aged profile. This is good, weighty and complex. I wouldn’t hold any longer in case the plum/prune starts to dominate. Good.

Really lovely high-altitude chianti, lighter in style (no tar or licorice here), and very harmonious - fruit leather, some smoke and violets, well-balanced. Enjoyed.

Looking lightweight. Transparent at rim. Nose a bit mute but a touch of sticking plaster not a lot to go on. In the mouth, soft cherry fruits, some herb and linctus and coffee notes. This has some length and finishes a little tarry. I like it a lot.

Ruby colour, delightful balance of cherry & sweetness, long finish, lighter than the standard Fontodi CC but none the worse for it. Maybe for earlier drinking.

Needs a good hour+ of decanting. I wasted the first 1/3 of the bottle wondering, what was that I liked so much last time. When ready, reveals pronounced cherry and raspberry flavors, clean and transparent, easy to enjoy. If more convincing on the finish, would be in a different league. From high altitude vineyard, large oak barrels, 13.5% Alc, different to Fontodi CC that has 15% alc that year. Traditional chianti, that I would love to have more bottles of.
