PHMG WAG: The Wine Club Tasting (The Lyon Club): Outstanding for its depth of black fruit, mint, wet stone and oak notes, all in balance with significant tannins. Great QPR for the Calistoga neighborhood! Now-2025

Purple fruit - currants, dark cherry, blueberry, and plum. Nice vibrant flavors of dark berries, some spice, and a mineral component; however, the fruit came across a little lighter than expected in consideration of my experience with previous vintages. Fairly long finish but a little tannic - this vintage needs some time. Nonetheless, in my opinion a little better than the 89 rating from WA but I expect some improvement over the next year or so as the fruit softens/opens-up more.

Smooth tannins, dark blackberry and kirsch flavors. Jammy.

Tasting in Napa during Campovelo cycling; 4/27/2018-4/30/2018 (Napa, CA): Needs time, fairly closed. Lots of fennel and anise, fruit isn’t as concentrated as I would expect for 2015. Nicely balanced but nothing to write home about.
