Bought this as scored high on critic ratings. Odd wine this. Unfiltered. Bubbles in the glass which is sometimes used to make inferior wines appear fresh but really doesn’t need it here. Made the wine feel quite peculiar. I left some for the following day when it had lost this sparkle and it was a lot better. Still an fairly ordinary Chardonnay which was very overpriced but is what we tend to get from California. There are much better out there such as Paul Hobbs and Freestone Chardonnay

I typically enjoy the occasional D&G wine. Their Clairette is a fun, easy summer sipper. Their pet nat is tasty if in the mood for something other than Champagne.
This Chardonnay is lightly effervescent with fading citrus notes reminiscent of Meyer lemon... and tastes like kombucha. Nothing stands out in this one. The muted aromas, coupled by the lack of overall structure, make the $40 I spent on this bottle all the more painful.
If this wasn't produced -- sorry, crafted -- by a trendy natural winery, this would be called straight up plonk. It's the narrative, people, the narrative!
Cellar storage conditions: 8/10

Effervescent upon pouring. Once settled, it’s a pale straw hue. Aromas of weissbeer, sour lemon, minty herbaceous quality and a touch of kombucha. On the palate it is light to medium bodied. Low acidity and full textured. The flavor profile echoes the nose, but it is pretty muted overall. The finish is clipped by a bitter astringent bite. Interesting, but not really my style.

Racier than 13.2% would suggest. Interesting and unusual.
