Deep dark purple black color. Comes across as hot as a whole. Really extracted blackberries, blueberries, black pepper spicel, vanilla, lots of oak and alcohol. I just couldn't come around this this wine. I didn't even realize there was Syrah planted in the To-Kalon vineyard. This was super ripe and viscous liqueur like juice. The viscocity was enjoyable, but the fruit was completely hidden by the heat. Kind of hollow in the midpalate with super high alcohol, lower acidity and moderate high tannin structure. Pass.

Purchased frim winery. Nose had a good cab smell, black cherry, cassis, etc. First taste had a Bordeaux style with an earthy, vegetal character even though no franc. A little spiciness from the syrah added a different complexity.

This was good - A bit fruity and very smooth at this point. Should have several more years left
