Smokin Meat and Serious Syrah 2.0 (Westport, CT): This was a favorite of mine from the day. It's a bit more secondary in nature. I get some green pepper and more green in general notes. Good age to it. Right in drinking window. There's still power here. I quite enjoyed it.

Nez fumé, fruit noir discret et fin. Le soyeux des tanins est admirable, c'est fin, précis et long, tout en subtilité. Quel vin magnifique, émouvant de mon point de vue, mais ce fut le moins apprécié de trois vins, face à deux très beaux bourgognes qui, à mon humble avis, ne lui faisaient aucun ombrage. :) 94 pts
Une grande bouteille, la meilleure d’un lot de trois à l’encan.

Very nicely balanced; fruit is done, at its peak; but the nose still excellent and long finish.
