No decant. Inviting cassis, sour kirsch, and raspberry on the nose. Medium/light body with energetic, medium acid and velvety mouth feel. The fruits are beautiful, especially cassis and red cherry. Balanced and really enjoyable.

Pure Spirits Portfolio Tasting (Oinoscent): 60% merlot, 30% Bouchet, 7% Prayssac, 3% Cab Sauvignon Nice density, thick herbal and oaky frame, palate with dark fruit again, tea notes, tight tannins, oak frame, density, long finish

Table decant. Medium-bodied right bank showing peppery black and red fruits with green tannins and a firm, acidic backbone. Improved with some air but ultimately fell short of enjoyable.

A little disappointing, I guess it goes to show that the atmosphere of your first bottle sometimes is misleading. Not as good as when we tasted in Bordeaux but still serviceable. Not sure if it needs more time in the cellar or would benefit from a long decant, will certainly find out as we have a case of this.

Quaffable, not a standout but paired with rich, meaty chili just fine.
