2002 William Fevre, Chablis 1er Cru, Montmains Gyllen mellomgul. Bra lengde. 90

My fourth and final bottle of this. Very nice but somewhat less impressive than the rest of the Fevre brood in 2002. Lacking a bit of freshness at this point, but nice green apple and pear fruit and stony PC Chablis minerality. This could not be touched in a New World chardonnay at 3x the price.

Clearly past it's prime but still attractive. Deep, evolved golden yellow. Oily, somewhat oxidized fruit in the nose. A bit off-putting. A bit better in the mouth but still evident this should have been drunk a couple years ago. I'm hoping some of the worst of the oxidation will blow off, but not holding my breath. A testament that not all Chablis can age ten years-even a Premier Cru. 4-3-7-3: 67/100.

Oxidized, but still drinkable.
