From magnum. Decanted about an hour before service. Great red fruits with balanced tannin and acid. In this format, drinking really well with probably another 5 years of great drinking ahead of it.

Tasted blind. The color is medium (+) ruby-garnet with brown hues, showing a little age. The nose is clean, medium in intensity and developed (+), with dark cherry, mushrooms, forest floor, pine, tar and wood. The palate is dry, with medium (+) acidity, medium (+) tannin and alcohol. Drinking well now and with some additional aging potential. The earthiness (and unexpected age) threw me for a loop and I guessed Bordeaux. Actually a blend of all five Bordeaux varietals, but from Napa....

Surprising amount of tannin at opening. Tobacco and cherry upfront with a leather finish. Let’s see what happens with 1 hour of decanting ,,,

Mature Bordeaux on the nose. Good fruit that lingers for 30 seconds. Great time to drink up.
