Cloudy ox-blood full bodied wine Musty, wet wool, mossy, earthy, mushrooms, wet wood, and forest floor Fruit has dissipated. All tertiary notes. Old and close to its end, but being a magnum, there is still life in this bottle. Shortish finish. Palate is subtle, nuances of the nose. Hints of old stewed plums and sour cherries. Past its prime for sure!
Magnums are BETTER!!!!

A classic chianti with a very slight new world taste. Color was slightly darker than what I expected for a Chianti. Wonderful taste over a 2-3 hour period.

From magnum. Did not fit the classic sangio profile for me, lower acidity helped this 9 year old still wield a bit of a club, with heavy fruit and a bit of wood. Still a big, wonderful wine served with various Italian appetizers. I would have though it an IGT rather than a DOCG CC, but excellent wine is excellent wine, and there is nothing to complain about here.

Really a delicious Chianti....modern but not international, this wine clearly hits the classic Sangiovese flavor profile.

Delicious on day 1....unfortunately I tried to keep the rest 'til the next day and it had lost a lot of steam.
