In comparison to Conception, Samba Side is a more savoury-driven Pinot. Deep violet in the glass. Complex nose, showing berry fruit, sea salt, bit of wet soil and oriental spice. Chewy tannins with a soft texture and medium acidity. Long finish. Interesting Pinot, but I'd much rather prefer the Conception to this at the price.

Pinotpalooza (Carriageworks, Redfern): Oak dominant; toast, caramel, sweet spice, muted red fruit. Again it's sourly juicy, woody tannins, caramel and alcohol, muted fruit. Meh
