Unexpected deliciousness. Somewhat reasonably priced just off Times Square, paired well with jetlag and beef with green beans. Definitely has a glossiness and the oak is more than apparent, but somewhat light on its feet and doesn't feel like its 14% abv. It will never have the presence of a Tondonia or Ardanza but that's no bad thing. I'll look for another bottle when back in blighty - to see how much my perception was clouded by the environment.

On ne comprend pas comment il est encore possible de vendre à si bas prix des vins qui ont plus de 10 ans et qui ont passé plus de 30 mois en barriques. Seuls les Espagnols connaissant encore le secret. Ce vin commence à montrer son âge avec des arômes tertiaires de sous-bois, de champignon, d’iode ou d’autres produits médicaux. Le bois n’est pas encore totalement digéré ou il ne le sera jamais. L’attaque est rustique avec des tanins piquants. Il mérite un passage en carafe, car avec le temps il s’est ouvert et a laissé le fruit apparaître. Loin d’être complexe, mais à tout le moins agréable pour le prix.
