One of the best CA pinots that I have had. It had some nice earthiness on the nose and in the mouth. Good fruit coming though in both as well. Came together with a nice balance, with the earth and fruit in harmony. Nice finish. I have developed a preference for OR pinot noir, and this was more in that style and really impressed me. But alas, all gone. Drank without decanting, and only a short rest in the glass. It was fine almost immediately. Drinking very nicely now.

One of my favorite Pinots and a great value compared to all of the high priced options out there for Carneros Pinot. Drinks great right out of the bottle and doesn't need much of a decant at all. Nice cherries and light oak on the nose. More of the same along with some nice earthiness on the palate. Probably won't improve too much in bottle so I wouldn't hold it for an extended period.

IMHO, a one-night wine. Some PNs shine on day 2. This one did not. Frankly, it was at it's best shortly out of the bottle. Initially it had a very big fruit-forward nose with a full mouthfeel; cherry-cola. Over the course of the evening, the fruit ran away and the oaky vanilla started coming out and the nose picked up a strawberry/raspberry with aged balsamic quality. Gut rating would put this in the 90 point range; day 2 it just fell apart.

No formal note. Pleasant, if unremarkable. On the simple side. Cherries and light oak.
